NOAA"™s Sea Grant College Program has launched the Community Climate Change Adaptation Initiative that is aimed at implementing what calls "œrapid response, community based, climate change adaptation demonstration projects." $1.2 million will be distributed to universities and community partners for projects in coastal and Great Lakes states. The projects will focus on coastal problems associated with climate change, and it is hoped that this will produce information that communities can use to make informed decisions and plan for the climate change impacts they are or will experience. Projects will be implemented in about 200 coastal communities. More>>>
